Day 24 Reflection: I Am Blessed with All Spiritual Blessings in Heavenly Places in Christ

Bible Reference: Ephesians 1:3
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

Understanding Spiritual Blessings

The phrase “spiritual blessings” in Ephesians 1:3 speaks of the divine inheritance given to believers through Christ. These blessings are not merely material or earthly but are eternal and heavenly. They are sourced from God and bestowed upon us because of our relationship with Christ. Unlike material blessings, which can fade away, spiritual blessings endure forever and have a transformative impact on our lives.

Key Aspects of Our Spiritual Blessings in Christ

  1. Election and Adoption into God’s Family
    • Ephesians 1:4-5 – “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world… having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself.”
    • Before we were born, God had already chosen us in Christ. Through Jesus, we are not just saved but adopted as children of God. This adoption is a spiritual blessing that secures our identity and inheritance in Him (Romans 8:15-17).
  2. Redemption and Forgiveness of Sins
    • Ephesians 1:7 – “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”
    • One of the greatest spiritual blessings is the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. We are no longer bound by guilt or condemnation (Romans 8:1), but we are redeemed and set free.
  3. Wisdom and Revelation in the Knowledge of God
    • Ephesians 1:17 – “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.”
    • God grants us the ability to know Him more deeply. This wisdom allows us to live according to His will and understand the mysteries of His kingdom (Colossians 1:9-10).
  4. The Seal of the Holy Spirit
    • Ephesians 1:13-14 – “In whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance.”
    • The Holy Spirit is a mark of our salvation and the guarantee of our future inheritance in Christ. His presence in us empowers, guides, and transforms us (John 14:26; Romans 8:11).
  5. Victory and Authority in Christ
    • Ephesians 2:6 – “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
    • Being seated with Christ in heavenly places signifies spiritual authority. We have victory over sin, Satan, and every power of darkness (Luke 10:19; Colossians 2:15).
  6. Access to God and His Promises
    • Ephesians 3:12 – “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.”
    • Through Christ, we can boldly approach God’s throne to receive grace, mercy, and help in times of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Living in the Reality of Our Spiritual Blessings

Knowing that we are blessed with all spiritual blessings should transform how we live:

  • Faith over Fear – Since we are seated with Christ, we should walk in confidence, not fear.
  • Holiness and Righteous Living – As those chosen by God, our lives should reflect His holiness (1 Peter 2:9).
  • Gratitude and Worship – Understanding our spiritual blessings should lead us to praise and thank God continually (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
  • Victory over the Enemy – With Christ’s authority, we must reject every lie of the enemy and walk in dominion (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

Conclusion

As believers, we are not lacking in any spiritual blessing. In Christ, we have been chosen, redeemed, forgiven, empowered, and given authority in heavenly places. These blessings shape our identity and guarantee our eternal inheritance. Let us embrace this truth and live in the fullness of the transformed life that God has called us to.

    12. Blessed Saviour, You have loaded us with great varieties of gifts, talents, abilities, capacities and experiences, help us to discover, develop and deploy them to honour You and impact our world, in Jesus’ name. (Romans 12:6-8).
    13. Heavenly Father, as we stand strong in the finished work of Christ and in/with Your authority, strength and power, to face down all hostile foes, forces and factors, continue to uphold and command victories for us in Jesus’ name. (Ephesians 6:10-13).
    14. Almighty God, according to the riches of Your glory, continuously strengthen us with might by Your Spirit in the inner man. Cause us to grow, glow and go from strength to strength. We will not faint, falter, fail or fall. We will end well, end strong and finish well in Christ in Jesus’ name. (Ephesians 3:16).
    15. Covenant keeping God, thank You for answering and acting beyond and above our imaginations and prayers in Jesus’ name. (Ephesians 3:20).

May the Lord help us to fully understand and walk in the reality of all that we have in Christ! 🙏🏽
