Day 26 Reflection: I Am Enthroned with Christ Jesus in Heavenly Places

Bible Text: Ephesians 2:6 (KJV)
“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

One of the greatest revelations of our faith in Christ is that we are not just saved from sin, but we are also elevated to a position of divine authority and rulership. The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Ephesians, unveils this mystery: as believers, we are spiritually enthroned with Christ in heavenly places. This truth is foundational to understanding our identity, authority, and victory in Christ.

1. The Reality of Our Spiritual Position

The phrase “made us sit together in heavenly places” speaks of our unity with Christ in His exaltation. This means:

  • We share in Christ’s victory over sin, death, and the powers of darkness (Romans 6:4-5).
  • We have been spiritually relocated from the dominion of darkness to the kingdom of God (Colossians 1:13).
  • Our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20), and we are seated in a place of spiritual authority.

Being seated with Christ signifies rest, dominion, and security. Just as Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father (Ephesians 1:20), we are positioned in Him to rule and reign spiritually.

2. Understanding Our Authority in Christ

To be enthroned with Christ means we have been given authority over the enemy. Jesus declared in Luke 10:19:
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

This authority is not based on our works but on our union with Christ. Because we are in Him, we operate under His dominion and victory:

  • We have power over sin (Romans 6:14).
  • We have dominion over demonic forces (Mark 16:17).
  • We have access to divine wisdom and revelation (1 Corinthians 2:16).

3. Living with a Kingdom Mindset

Many believers live below their spiritual privileges because they do not fully grasp this enthronement. If we truly understand our position in Christ:

  • We will approach life with confidence, knowing that we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).
  • We will pray with boldness, knowing that our prayers are heard in the courts of heaven (Hebrews 4:16).
  • We will walk in holiness, recognizing that we are called to reflect the nature of our King (1 Peter 2:9).

4. The Practical Implications of Being Enthroned with Christ

Since we are enthroned with Christ, how should we live?
✅ Live Above Sin – Sin no longer has dominion over us (Romans 6:12-14).
✅ Walk in Authority – Exercise spiritual authority in prayer and spiritual warfare (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
✅ Demonstrate Kingdom Power – Manifest the power of God in our daily lives through faith, healing, and deliverance (Mark 16:17-18).
✅ Set Our Affections on Things Above – Focus on heavenly realities and not be enslaved by worldly distractions (Colossians 3:1-2).

5. Conclusion: Walking in the Consciousness of Our Position

To be enthroned with Christ is to live with the awareness that we are kings and priests unto God (Revelation 1:6). Our transformed life should reflect this reality, showing that we are no longer slaves to fear, sin, or defeat. Instead, we walk in victory, exercising dominion in the name of Jesus.

May we embrace this truth and live daily in the fullness of our heavenly position!

Prayer:

  1. O Lord our Rock, we thank You for Your spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, for redemption, wisdom and inheritance in Christ in Jesus’ name. (Ephesians 1:2-3).
  2. Father, we thank You for giving us Your shield of salvation. Your right hand has held us up and Your gentleness has made us great in Jesus’ name. (Psalm 18:35).
  3. Lord Jesus, I thank You for the liberty I have in You. I stand fast and I will not be entangled again with any yoke of bondage in Jesus’ name. (Galatians 5:1).
  4. Holy Spirit, we thank You for leading SDCC as Your sons and daughters. We have received the spirit of adoption as we cried out in “Abba Father” in Jesus’ name. (Romans 8:14-16).
  5. Father, I thank You. You have lifted me up and I am seated with Christ in the heavenly places, far above every principality, and power and might in Jesus’ name. (Ephesians 1:21).
  6. Almighty God, please forgive us all the iniquities that have separated us from You. Cleanse us with Your precious blood in Jesus’ name. (Isaiah 59:1-2).
  7. O Lord, fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit. Make me a flame of fire in Jesus’ name. (Psalm 104:4).
  8. Our great Redeemer, please establish us with You in Christ, in love, power, unity, anointing, righteousness, holiness, and faith in our hearts in Jesus’ name. (2 Corinthians 1: 21-22).
  9. O Lord, be gracious to us, as we have waited for You, during this journey of fasting and prayer. Be exalted, and have mercy upon our children and bless them divinely in Jesus’ name. (Isaiah 30:18).
  10. Great and mighty God, let the power of Your word we have heard enlighten our spirit to Your truth and work effectively in our hearts to bear much fruit to Your Kingdom in Jesus’ name. (1 Thessalonians 2:13).
  11. I am strong. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I walk and I do not faint, I run and I am not weary in Jesus’ name. (Philippians 4:13, Isaiah 40:31).
  12. Father, help me to walk in the newness of life, let Your word dwell richly in me. Open my spiritual eyes to learn more of Your words and abide in it in Jesus’ name. (Romans 6:4).
  13. The Lord has put all things under my feet and I decree and declare that I bruise and destroy all my enemies namely sickness, failure, disappointment, lack, shame, stagnation, bareness, even Satan in Jesus’ name. (Ephesians 1:22).
  14. Our Father, we give You glory, for You are able to keep us from stumbling and present us faultless. To you alone be majesty, dominion and power, forever in Jesus’ name. (Jude 1:24-25).
  15. Now let us worship our Maker (worship song). Worthy, worthy, is the Lamb x2. Worthy, worthy, is the Lamb that was slain. Glory, Hallelujah x3, praise the Lord. (Revelations 5:1).
