Day 27 Reflection: I Am Empowered and Established in Christ Jesus
Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:21 (KJV)
“Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God.”
As we journey through the 40 days of fasting and prayer, today’s reflection focuses on a powerful truth: We are empowered and established in Christ Jesus. Many believers struggle with feelings of inadequacy, instability, and weakness, but the Word of God assures us that He Himself has established us in Christ and anointed us with His power.
1. God is the One Who Establishes Us in Christ
The foundation of our Christian life is not based on our efforts, but on God’s divine work. Paul reminds us that it is God who establishes us in Christ. This means:
- We are firmly rooted in Christ (Colossians 2:6-7)
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”
When we accept Christ, He plants us deeply in Him, giving us spiritual stability. - We are no longer tossed by the storms of life (Ephesians 4:14)
The enemy’s goal is to destabilize our faith, but when we are established in Christ, we stand firm against trials and temptations.
2. We Are Anointed and Empowered by God
Paul also mentions that God has anointed us. The anointing represents:
- Divine empowerment for service (Acts 1:8)
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…”
Every believer is anointed to live a life of victory and impact. - Spiritual authority over the enemy (Luke 10:19)
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Because of the anointing, we have authority over demonic forces and can operate in divine power.
3. Established for a Purpose
Being established in Christ is not just about personal stability—it is also about fulfilling God’s purpose.
- We are established to bear fruit (John 15:5)
Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit.”
Our empowerment in Christ enables us to live productive and impactful lives. - We are established in righteousness (Isaiah 54:14)
“In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear.”
Christ’s work in us gives us victory over sin and grants us peace.
4. Walking in the Reality of Our Empowerment
To live in the reality of being established and empowered in Christ, we must:
- Believe in God’s promises (2 Peter 1:3-4) – His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness.
- Walk in obedience (James 1:22) – We must apply God’s Word in our daily lives.
- Depend on the Holy Spirit (Zechariah 4:6) – Our strength comes from the Spirit, not our efforts.
- Live in confidence (Philippians 1:6) – God, who began the work in us, will complete it.
Conclusion
As we reflect on today’s theme, let us be assured that we are not alone in our Christian journey. God Himself has established us in Christ, and He has anointed us with power. No challenge, opposition, or trial can shake us when we remain rooted in Him. Let us walk in the confidence of who we are—empowered and firmly established in Christ Jesus!
