Day 38: I Declare My Total Freedom in Christ Jesus
Key Text: John 8:36 – “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
Freedom is one of the greatest gifts of salvation. But there’s a difference between worldly freedom and the total, lasting freedom that comes through Christ. Worldly freedom may remove chains, but spiritual freedom in Christ breaks yokes, lifts burdens, and sets the soul free. In today’s reflection, we declare boldly and joyfully our total freedom—spirit, soul, and body—in Christ Jesus.
What Does It Mean to Be “Free Indeed”?
In John 8:36, Jesus makes a powerful declaration: “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
This was in response to the Jews who claimed they were never in bondage. But Jesus explained that whoever commits sin is a servant of sin (John 8:34), and only He, the Son, has the authority and power to grant true freedom.
“Free indeed” means:
- Not partial or conditional freedom.
- Freedom not based on man’s permission or circumstances.
- Freedom that affects every area of your life—spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical.
The Nature of Our Freedom in Christ
- Freedom from Sin’s Power
Romans 6:14 – “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”
- In Christ, we are no longer under the rule of sin.
- Sin may tempt, but it no longer controls.
- Grace empowers us to live a righteous life.
- Freedom from Condemnation
Romans 8:1 – “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”
- Guilt and shame are broken off us.
- We walk with boldness, knowing our past is forgiven.
- Freedom from Fear
2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear…”
- Fear is a prison. Faith is our freedom.
- We can live boldly, serve joyfully, and pray confidently.
- Freedom from the Law of Works
Galatians 5:1 – “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free…”
- We are not saved by rituals or religious rules but by faith in Christ.
- Legalism is replaced with liberty—not to sin, but to live for God out of love.
- Freedom to Become Who God Created Us to Be
2 Corinthians 3:17 – “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
- We are free to grow, serve, worship, and shine.
- His Spirit liberates our gifts and calls us into divine purpose.
How to Walk in This Total Freedom
- Believe the Truth
John 8:32 – “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
- Freedom starts with a renewed mind.
- Believe what God says about you.
- Abide in Christ Daily
John 15:4 – “Abide in me, and I in you…”
- Stay connected to the source of your freedom.
- Fellowship with the Word and the Spirit.
- Declare Your Freedom Boldly
Proverbs 18:21 – “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”
- Speak liberty over your life, family, ministry, health, and future.
- Break every lie of the enemy by declaring God’s promises.
- Reject Every Yoke
Isaiah 10:27 – “…the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”
- Reject the chains of the past.
- Cancel every ancestral bondage or satanic oppression.
Declaration (Personal Prayer Affirmation)
“In the name of Jesus, I declare that I am totally free!
I am free from sin, guilt, fear, condemnation, and shame.
I walk in the liberty of Christ.
Every chain is broken, every yoke is destroyed.
I declare my mind is renewed, my heart is healed, my soul is restored.
I am no longer a slave; I am a child of God!
I walk in dominion, victory, and purpose.
I declare my total freedom in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!”
