Day 40 Reflection – I Am Recreated for Good Works in Christ Jesus
Text: Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) – “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
As we conclude our 40-day spiritual journey, we are reminded that God has not only redeemed us through Christ, but He has recreated us for a divine purpose. The transformed life does not end with personal renewal—it launches us into purposeful living. You are not a random being wandering through life; you are God’s workmanship, intentionally crafted in Christ for good works that He designed long ago.
Key Reflection Points
1. You Are God’s Masterpiece
The Greek word for “workmanship” is poiēma, from which we get the English word poem. This suggests that you are a work of divine art, uniquely shaped by the hand of God.
Psalm 139:14 – “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…”
You are not a mistake. In Christ, your identity is redefined, and your purpose is divinely aligned.
2. Recreated in Christ Jesus
The new birth through Christ is not a renovation of the old but a complete re-creation.
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
In Christ, you’ve undergone a spiritual transformation that affects your desires, passions, vision, and mission.
3. Good Works Are a Product, Not a Path to Salvation
Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that salvation is by grace through faith and not by works. But now in verse 10, Paul shows that good works are the natural outcome of a saved life.
Titus 2:14 – “Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
You were not saved by works, but you were saved for works. Your life should now be a testimony of God’s grace expressed through good deeds.
4. Preordained Purpose
God has already prepared the good works for you to walk in. This means you’re not called to make up your own path—you are to discover and walk in God’s plan.
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Colossians 1:10 – “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work…”
Walking in God’s will ensures that your life is productive, impactful, and pleasing to Him.
Examples of Good Works
Here are practical manifestations of the good works God has recreated us for:
- Serving others in love – Galatians 5:13
- Caring for the poor and needy – James 1:27
- Living righteously and justly – Micah 6:8
- Encouraging and building others up – Hebrews 10:24-25
- Evangelizing and discipling others – Matthew 28:19-20
Declaration
“I am God’s masterpiece, recreated in Christ Jesus for good works. I will walk in divine purpose. My life will be fruitful and impactful. I am not a spectator; I am a vessel of transformation. I will shine the light of Christ through every good work He has ordained for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
