Day 37: I Receive Victory Over Fear, Worry, and Anxiety
Key Verses
Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Reflection
Fear, worry, and anxiety are powerful emotions that affect our minds, drain our faith, and hinder our spiritual growth. As believers living a transformed life, we are not immune to life’s challenges—but we are empowered to respond differently.
1. Fear is Not From God
2 Timothy 1:7 makes it clear that fear is not a divine deposit. If fear did not come from God, then its source is either from our flesh or from the enemy. The enemy often uses fear to:
- paralyze our potential,
- blind us to God’s promises,
- and push us into disobedience.
But God has given us three divine antidotes:
- Power – the ability through the Holy Spirit to overcome and act with boldness (Acts 1:8).
- Love – which casts out fear (1 John 4:18).
- A sound mind – self-control, discipline, and clarity even in storms.
2. The Battle is in the Mind
Worry and anxiety begin as thoughts and imaginations. Philippians 4:6–7 urges us to bring every anxious thought under control through:
- Prayer – Communion with God brings us closer to His heart and will.
- Supplication – Earnest, heartfelt requests show our dependence on Him.
- Thanksgiving – Gratitude shifts focus from problems to the goodness and power of God.
When we do this, the peace of God acts like a security guard, garrisoning our hearts and minds, protecting us from anxiety and mental torment.
3. The Transformed Life Thinks Differently
A transformed life is a renewed life (Romans 12:2). It means:
- Thinking faith over fear,
- Choosing peace over panic,
- Trusting in God’s sovereignty over circumstances.
Even Jesus acknowledged the burden of anxiety in Matthew 6:25–34. He encouraged us not to worry about our lives but to seek first the Kingdom of God.

Confession of Faith
“I am not a slave to fear, worry, or anxiety. I am a child of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit. I receive divine peace and rest in the promises of my Father. My heart is guarded, my mind is sound, and my future is secure in Christ Jesus. Amen.”
