No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper: evil tongues be judged and condemned.

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,”
says the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17

EXPOSITION:

Today’s topic is an excerpt from Isaiah 54:17 which fully reads: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.”

The pronouncement in this text is meant for you, yes you, who is reading this devotional and me too, as long as we know, and can sincerely say that we are servants of the LORD, His ambassadors on earth.

The word heritage in the text calls for attention. A heritage is a birthright; for example, God’s love and His promises as presented in the Bible are our heritage as His children and co-heirs with Jesus, His only begotten Son. To erase any doubt in you and me that we are children of God and co-heirs with Jesus, Paul attested to this in Romans 8:16&17: “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…”

Beloved in the Lord, it is your birthright, it is my birthright to boldly declare at all times that any evil, diabolic weapon of the enemy designed and assigned against us shall fail in their mission. It is our birthright also to condemn evil tongue that speaks ills into our lives. The word of God says it thus in Isaiah 8:10 – “Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; speak the word it will not stand. For the LORD is with us.” Do you hear that? ‘THE LORD IS WITH US!’

Rhetorically, the question is asked in Romans 8:31, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” To which we can answer that if God is for/with us, no human or nonhuman evil power can be against us, and no evil tongue can bring a charge against us because we are God’s elect (Romans 8:32).

I pray our faith in today’s topic and the power in the textual sources being cited here will work for us; by these declarations forces of evil are rendered senile and their weapons rendered impotent against us in the name of Jesus. Amen and amen. God bless you. SHALOM. Pastor Jide Siwoku
